Altar Boyz is a musical comedy that satirizes the popularity of boy bands and Christian-themed music in contemporary American culture. The Altar Boyz perform the final concert of their “Raise the Praise” tour in real time. The five performers, named Matthew, Mark, Luke, Juan, and Abraham, perform their popular and entertaining pieces and reveal tidbits about themselves and the band throughout the night. The boys employ a funny machine to detect burdened souls in the performance space, and reveal the goal to bring the ticker to zero by the end of the show.
